My short films, spoken-word poetry, and stories, meant to move you from the screen to the soul.

In addition to writing, speaking, and acting, Brian enjoys creating his own film and video projects that carry inspiring, positive, and heartfelt messages.

Film notes

A silent-film-style short with black-and-white and color contrast and a piano score, about a lonely man who learns over one day that kindness and connection lead to happiness.

A short film showing you how to find happiness within

Telling a story about the importance of helping others, and the fulfillment and joy that come with serving in this way, is what Brian had in mind when he wrote Searching for Happiness.

People chase happiness in many ways and often never find it. Using the contrast of black and white and color, along with a simple and powerful piano score, Brian wanted each viewer to be moved by the deeper message and fully understand its meaning by the end of the film. Brian, a huge fan of old silent films, also dipped his toes into the genre. With the invaluable help of the amazing young filmmaker Nye Green, director of photography and co-director, Brian hopes this short film serves as a reminder of the power of a random act of kindness.

Picked up by Gaia, the conscious media company, to stream on their site and as part of their Spiritual Cinema Circle subscription program, sharing the film with a much broader audience.

Film notes

A down-on-his-luck blues guitarist plays for money on the streets of Reno, in a story that came from Brian's own dream.

This street musician might just change how you see the world.

Brian's very first video project was a short film shot in downtown Reno, Nevada, which he wrote, produced, and acted in to share some valuable messages. Guitar Man tells the story of a down-on-his-luck blues guitar player who plays for money at night on the streets of Reno, and his interactions with the people he meets. Although on the surface he doesn't have much, that doesn't stop him from sharing the messages that we all have a lot in common, the value of giving, and that our true gifts reside within ourselves.

Filmed and directed by the very talented Michael Sweeney of Everything to Nothing Studios.

Poetry

Here are some of my poems that were recorded at Majestic Rose Records.
I invite you to view more on my YouTube channel.

An Inspirational Children's Story About Believing in Yourself

Moon Child is one of Brian's most loved poems, a story for every age about believing in yourself and trusting in your dreams. Written and read by G. Brian Benson, with illustrations by Paul Hernandez.

A Spoken Word Poem About Learning to Love Yourself

This poem is to celebrate everyone working on becoming a better version of themselves. Overcoming a lack of acceptance and a desire to fill our voids outwardly is not always easy to accomplish. It takes courage, self-awareness, and vulnerability to get there.

Brian creates to amplify hearts, spark self-discovery, and remind others of their own light.

Brian also loves to create spoken-word and insight videos featuring his writing in a variety of unique ways. Feel free to share them to spread the good vibes!
